School Visits

Ban Phudin School
Chaiyapoom, Thailand
Ban Phudin School was our last stop on the first trip. Principal Chareonsorn and teachers welcomed us into a conference room where our donated sports goods awaited. Over freshly squeezed sugarcane juice — a student-teacher fundraising product made from sugarcane grown on-site — we shared FollowThru's mission and later toured their juice production. Though students were absent that day due to an official exam, Mr. Chareonsorn showed us the school's volleyball court, noted as one of the area's best and a frequent host for national tournaments.

Why We Visited
We visited Ban Phudin School as part of our first FollowThru trip, aiming to support schools with limited resources and help create safer, better-equipped spaces for students to enjoy sports.
What We Provided
We provided sports equipment ahead of our visit to support the school's athletic programs, with hopes of further helping restore their basketball court in the future.
What We Learned
Ban Phudin has good campus space and the best outdoor volleyball court in town. However, its mixed-use basketball/futsal court was poorly maintained due to budget limits — the backboards were rusted and unusable, left discarded in a corner. We hope to help by providing new backboards and renovating the court's cement floor for safer play.
